Deep Cleanings

A deep cleaning is required to treat a gum disease also known as Periodontitis. Left untreated is how you can lose all your teeth and you end up in dentures. Getting regular cleaning is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health.

Periodontitis is when plaque (or tarter) around teeth have inflamed the gums (gingivitis) and bone loss has occurred. Periodontitis is a form of gum disease that can destroy the bones, gums and tissue that support the teeth. Dr. Atom Edenson is very aggressive in the treatment of periodontal gum disease because once bone is lost, it's gone forever.

The deep cleaning treatment process, known as "Scaling and Root Planning", removes bacteria, calculus (tartar), and debris that has collected under the gum line that fosters bacteria growth. Three out of four Americans have some form of periodontal disease and only three out of one hundred will ever get treated before it's too late.
